    Hello there,

I am working on modernizing the control systems at a mid-sized manufacturing plant; and I am hoping to get some advice from the community here. The plant primarily handles the assembly of mechanical components; and we are in the process of upgrading our old legacy control systems with a more streamlined and efficient setup.

At the moment; we are using older PLCs from Siemens, and I’m considering switching to newer models (Siemens S7 series) that would be more compatible with a SCADA system. My main goal is to ensure seamless data communication between the PLCs and the SCADA system while improving real-time visibility of the plant’s operations.

Which SCADA platforms would you recommend that integrate well with Siemens PLCs? I have heard about WinCC and Ignition—are there others I should consider?

Also, I have gone through this post; https://www.automation-sense.com/forum/forum-automatisme-industriel-power-apps/sambou.html which definitely helped me out a lot.

What are the common challenges you have faced when integrating new PLCs with SCADA systems? Any advice on potential pitfalls and how to avoid them would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help and assistance
